HOTEL U KAPLIČKY V PÍSKU - HISTORIE MÍSTA

Today's chapel was built in 1830 in place of the original wayside shrine. It stood in this places from the Middle Ages and routes from České Budějovice, Týn nad Vltanou and Písek mountains crossed here. Commemorative plaque on the south side of the chapel reminds nearby combat of Austrian and French armies during the war of Hapsburg heirdom - December 1741. Four Alsace grenadiers squad (century) succumbed Austrian superiority.

The plaque was mounted here on Czechoslovak tourists club initiative in 1923.
